DBA – Database Administrator

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, MongoDB, and exposure to Redis and RabbitMQ. This role requires expertise in ensuring database performance, security, high availability, disaster recovery, and automation while collaborating closely with application and DevOps teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-premises and Azure environments.
Configure, monitor, and manage Azure SQL Database and Azure Managed Instance.
Implement and monitor database backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA) strategies.
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
Manage MongoDB deployments including standalone, replica sets, and sharded clusters.
Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
Configure and administer Redis for caching and performance optimization.
Manage RabbitMQ messaging infrastructure, including queue configuration and monitoring.
Implement database security, user access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
Automate routine DBA activities using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Runbooks, or DevOps pipelines.
Support development teams with database design best practices, schema optimization, and deployment activities.
Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, patching, and version management.
Troubleshoot production database issues and provide timely resolutions.
Maintain database documentation, SOPs, monitoring reports, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, and Application teams to ensure seamless database operations.

Good-to-Have Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
4–8 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator
Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
Experience managing Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance.
Hands-on experience with MongoDB administration.
Working knowledge of Redis and RabbitMQ.
Experience with database performance tuning, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or automation tools.
Microsoft Azure Database certifications (preferred).
